Exertis Almo’s Rob Voorhees Talks About “Autism and AV”
As part of its commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I), Rob Voorhees, Business Development Manager II – Technical Specialist and a newly inducted member of SCN’s 2024 Class of The Nine, is presenting the sold out session, “Autism and AV: Furthering the Discussion to Unlock Abilities.”
On Thursday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m. Voorhees is discussing how to further the conversation about neurodiversity in AV to maximize employee skill levels and attract a more diverse customer base. Philanthropic Support Focused on DE&I and Sustainability
Exertis Almo continues to find ways to support and give back to the AV industry and in alignment with Almo Corporation outreach efforts, specifically focused on DE&I and sustainability. This year, Exertis Almo is supporting the following organizations:
Swim With Purpose CORPORATE SPONSOR: A charitable fund with a mission to refurbish the swimming facility at Kentucky State University, an HBCU (historically black college and university). Founded by AV industry executive and avid swimmer/swim coach, Sam Taylor, and officially endorsed by Olympic gold-medalist and swimming legend Michael Phelps and the Michael Phelps Foundation, Swim With Purpose was created to support the re-establishment of the indoor pool facility for all -- students, faculty and community -- to utilize for a healthy lifestyle and therapy.
sAVe (Sustainability in AV) IMPACT SPONSOR: A non-profit and the first US-based organization to bring AV leaders together to help make substantial progress in areas related to responsible waste management, life cycle carbon emission reduction and reduced energy usage. In 2019, over 50 million tons of e-waste, including displays, cables, power supplies and other AV equipment was generated in NA and Europe and this number has increased 21 percent over the last five years. Exertis Almo supports sAVe as an Impact Sponsor, with a focus on the proper recycling of AV equipment.
